Integrative and Functional Nutrition Approach

I use evidence-based, individualized nutrition interventions to promote health and prevent or manage chronic conditions.

Each person's unique nutritional needs may require a personalized approach, which may include:

  • Learning how to understand your body’s signals

  • Identifying a nutrition plan and how to implement it!

  • Goals that are accessible, attainable, and flexible

Special Focuses

  • Mental Health Nutrition (Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, Autism, etc.)

  • Disordered Eating

  • Gut Health

  • Chronic Stress

About Leah

I am a Certified Nutritionist in Washington State and a Certified Nutrition Specialist Candidate with a Master of Science in Integrative Nutrition from Bastyr University. My passion for nutrition was sparked by my journey of using food as a tool to help manage symptoms related to endometriosis and ADHD.

I am committed to providing evidence-based, personalized nutrition counseling that focuses on long-term health and wellness, rather than offering promises of fad diets or quick fixes. Everyone has a unique relationship with food, and change isn’t always easy, but with the right support and guidance, it is possible to find what works for you!

When not reading the latest nutrition research or working with clients, I enjoy a nice cup of tea, a good fantasy novel or RPG video game, or leisurely hikes in the Pacific Northwest.

If you’re ready to work toward your health and nutrition goals, I am here to help you every step of the way!

My Approach

Health at Every Size

At Nourish Joy Nutrition, we embrace the Health at Every Size (HAES) philosophy, which focuses on health and well-being rather than weight or body size. Everybody deserves respect and access to healthcare, and that health is determined by a variety of factors—not just weight.

Intuitive Eating

Intuitive Eating is a holistic, non-diet approach that helps you reconnect with your body’s natural hunger and fullness cues. If it applies to your nutrition goals, I may use a customized approach to intuitive eating that can empower you to trust your body, enjoy food without guilt, and break free from dieting cycles and food rules.

Trauma-Informed

Trauma-informed principles are safety, choice, collaboration, trustworthiness, and empowerment. For some, food can mean comfort, love, and safety, and yet it may also be a source of anxiety, pain, and overwhelm. I create a safe as possible space for you to forge a toolkit that will help you explore your relationship with food.
